Hospitalization
Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital has the capability to care for most illnesses. Hospitalized patients are kept in the main treatment area to ensure they are under our watch at all times. We have multiple automated fluid pumps for accurate administration of IV fluids and medication. There is an oxygen cage for animals needing an enhanced oxygen environment. We also have an isolation unit for animals with infectious diseases who need specialized care.
Since we are not a 24 hour critical care facility, if your animal needs 24 hour monitoring, we may recommend overnight monitoring at a nearby emergency hospital that we work closely with. In the case of critically ill animals we may recommend taking your pet to a specialty hospital.
