Dr. Barak Benaryeh DVM, DABVP is the owner of Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital since 2005.

He graduated as a veterinarian from the University of California Davis (UC Davis) in 1997 and then completed an additional year of training in Small Animal Medicine, Surgery and Emergency at the University of Pennsylvania.

After graduating, he practiced at a 24-hour critical care and emergency hospital in Boston for seven years before moving to Austin in 2004. Dr. Benaryeh is board certified in canine and feline practice. In addition to veterinary practice, he has worked with veterinary students at both Tufts University and A&M University. He is a regular contributor to Clinician’s Brief Veterinary Journal and other veterinary publications. He speaks at conferences throughout the US on topics ranging from medical care of aging dogs to veterinary skills and competency.

In his free time, you will find him in any of the cold-water swimming pools in Austin or on a hike with his family and 3 dogs. The family cats and various reptiles stay home and wreck the house.
